There are different types of lifting. For example – when lifting loads in harbors, the wire rope sling must be pulled under the load and in these cases the aluminum ferrules may get in the way. Also, sometimes when lifting loads in the metallurgy, the temperatures may become so high that it may cause melting of the aluminum ferrules. So when you have such types of lifting, it is mandatory to use only hand-spliced wire rope slings. Generally, the hand-spliced wire rope slings are much harder to do than the standard ones, that is why the price is higher.
The loop of the wire rope sling
The loop of the wire rope sling can be made with wire rope clips, for a bigger reliability.
The wire rope slings with loops made of wire rope clips are safe and reliable way of lifting loads. The wire rope clips presses the wire rope and doesn’t allow any sliding. It is recommended to use 2-3 wire rope clips, tightened good.
When you have less responsible lifting operations, for example – anchoring of mobile towers, the loop of the wire rope sling can be also made of wire rope clips – more for the wire rope clips you can read here.
