CHAIN SLINGS – GENERAL INFORMATION

All chain slings are made according the client requirements. The main parameters are:

Number of legs – it depends on the number of the gripping points of the load.

WLL – what kind of load must be lifted.

Length – it varies and it is not mandatory to be multiple of a meter.  Most commonly ordered chain slings are with lengths of 3 and 6 meters.

One of the most important advantages of the chain sling is that its length can be easily adjusted. This is very useful if you want to use the same chain slings at different work sites, where you need it with a different length. Also, the possibility of adjusting the legs, allows you to lift loads with asymmetrically located gripping points – you can adjust the length of one or two of the legs, so the load can be evenly and steadily lifted by the sling.

The chain slings are usually assembled with:

Eye hooks

for standard use, it is the cheapest and most common option. The safety latches of our hooks are forged, unlike most of the other safety latches on the market, which are made of cheap sheet iron and therefore – it is easily breakable.

Self-locking hooks

it is more expensive, but significantly more secure option. Here if you want to open the hook, you must push manually a given button. Accidental opening of the hook is not possible here. The safety latches of these self-locking hooks are much stronger than the safety latches of the normal eye hooks.

Shackles

it is an option that allows you an easy reassembling, if needed. You can very easily change the shackles with hooks.

Swivel hooks

for some special applications the hook of the sling is required to allow rotation of the load. For these cases we offer two types of swivel hook:

Swivel hook without a bearing and no rotation under load : Here before lifting you must set in the right location the legs of the chain sling.

Swivel hook with a bearing and rotation under load : It allows the load to rotates anytime.
